(Just FYI – most people do not read blogs unless you add a picture to them, so get used to seeing my face) 😁!!!
My journey into Living Fully Alive really started with me trying to understand God. God and spirituality were always very important to me! Even as a young child, I desired to be known and loved by the one who created me. But instead of hearing that I was God’s delight and pleasure, I heard that I was full of sin, unworthy, and in jeopardy of being thrown into hell if I did not figure out how to be perfect (“religion” – I will talk a lot more about this in the weeks to come.) This created a life of performance, self-hatred, and mental torment for me. I spent most of my life believing I was not good enough and tried without success to figure out how to earn God’s love and acceptance.
It was not until my son got terminally ill (about 10 years ago) that I had the courage to actually challenge those belief systems. And in the challenging, I found myself and God and love and peace!!! Although it has been a long and hard journey, it has been worth every step.
(If you are joining me on this journey, get ready to pack your mental suitcase!)
Packing Tip #1 – Life is a journey. Life is all about the journey! The journey is beautiful! Everyone’s journey is different! There is grace for the journey!
