Another belief system I had to challenge was the power and influence we gave to the enemy. Although none of us would have come right out and say it, I was taught (and religion teaches) that satan is very powerful and is constantly attacking God’s people. We actually viewed the devil as equal (but opposite) to God. Again, we would not have said that that was true, but it was how we lived (which means it is what we actually believed in our subconscious). We were constantly fighting the devil and pleading with God to rescue us. This outlook on life puts you on constant defense mode (fear, anxiety, distrust, etc.) and makes you a victim instead of a victor. It also paints a picture of a pretty wimpy and unattached God who cannot keep us safe or is too busy or uninterested in our daily welfare.

Years later, when I began to challenge this lie, I found that NOTHING is greater than the FULLNESS of GOD INSIDE of ME. I am no longer a victim – I AM A VICTOR. The battle has already been won. It is finished, like Christ said. He sat down and so can you. The enemy has been defeated and you can relax.

If you take the time to listen (become aware) of your vocabulary, you will find out what you actually believe. If you say things like: “I am under the attack of the enemy,” or “The more I press into God, the more the enemy comes against me,” or “I am in a spiritual battle,” etc., you may have this belief system as your default.

Remember: WHATEVER YOU BELIEVE WILL MANIFEST IN YOUR LIFE!!!

Make your beliefs count!!!
